Blockshipping GSCP and its Importance to the Global Shipping Industries
The Overview
The quickest question that comes to mind when you take a look at the global container shipping industry is, how do we increase efficiency, reduce security challenges, improve on our processes while taking the environmental concerns into consideration, and within all these, increase profitability for all stakeholders.
This is what Blockshipping Global Shared Container Program (GSCP) has set out to achieve. The Blockshipping Global Shared Container Program (GSCP) was conceived and designed to help mitigate against most challenges encountered in the global container shipping Industry and to enhance the efficiency of all processes involved. The maritime industry is as important as the economy of a nation, large percentage of goods are received through the seaports and as such serves as the mainstay of several economies across the globe.
Purposes of Global Shared Container Program
The primary aim of GSCP is to provide a platform where all containers are registered and tracked in real time globally leveraging on Blockchain technology. Aside from this, the GSCP program also aims to become the shipping industry preferred platform for managing payments between stakeholders for the share of containers and the real-time tracking of vessels and containers around the world.
Why Blockchain
The Blockchain technology allows for efficient and transparent share of information as regards containers and financial payments and settlements between all stakeholders in the shipping industry. It allows for efficient and low-cost monitoring of the container interchange between the shipping companies, cargo owners, terminal operators, transporters and the exporters or importers as the case may be. This approach will significantly reduce the running cost of companies involved in the shipping business and thereby, increasing profitability. This technology also has a significant impact on the environment as it will lead to the reduction in the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere as a research carried out have shown.
What Is Blockshipping & Its Benefits
GSCP is being developed by a Danish company called Blockshipping. The company is managed by a team with huge experiences and technical knowledge in the container shipping industry as detailed in this report.
