After doing my research, I came to the conclusion that there is a need for more selfish people in this world. Only a few people could be said to have ever been truly selfish. However, people still say that everyone is selfish. To me, it is not even close to be true. We actually need more selfish people in this world.
The real problem the world have today is that only a few people are genuinely selfish. We have misunderstood the meaning of the term "selfish" because of what the dictionary said it is.
To be truly selfish means you do what pleases you today and always; otherwise you will harm yourself. If you think about it, you will see that what we always call selfishness can be actually referred to self-improvement.
Someone who is selfish think more about their own interests, reputation and well being. A person like that looks for happiness, joy, and peace of mind without minding what others say.
We all need to learn how to be truly selfish and start acting in our own interests from now on.
Many people go through life without ever having the time to think about how they were created. We waste our natural endearment, our talents and passions. Our very true self remain hidden, while we continue living copied lives and never had to experience the joy, peace, and the fulfilment that comes from being genuinely oneself.
Sometimes, being isolated give you the chance to discover your true self. It looks like most people don't love themselves to the extent of isolating themselves to pursue true selfishness in a deliberate manner.
Such process is like digging for treasure to discover your true self. Our inner nature is hidden, and we cannot see on the surface because it's spiritual.
Honestly, many people don't love themselves enough to think about their future. Instead they are so full of the here and now, engaging in activities that has little or no long term benefits. By withdrawing yourself from the crowd and investing in yourself by learning new skills behind the scenes is an act of true selfishness. In this sense, the more selfish you are, the better your personal development as a human being.
The time you spend away from others, learning and growing in secret, allows you to discover your true potential, thereby developing yourself in ways that bring more value to others than just popularity.
It means chosing how to live your life, who you will associate with, and how you can add value to others. The greatest act of selfishness is denying oneself of immediate pleasure for long term future benefits that enrich not only your life but also of others.
We must move away from material distraction. Money, status, fame and possessions must be done away with before you can be able to find out your real value in life. You can only go up by letting go of some certain things. This is the deeper meaning of selfishness.
Helping others is a selfish act in reality. If it is your habit to be always going out of your way to help others, then you are doing yourself a favor.
If you have never genuinely help someone then you have never been truly selfish. True selfishness involves self sacrifice for the benefit of other people, and it makes you happy when the people you helped are grateful.
