Thanks to as the initiator of the contest, and the theme this time was very adrenaline-driven from every entry that entered and I've read a few.
Enjoying and watching about movies that have serial killers is very challenging, especially from the beginning it is presented with a flat frame and makes us more curious when it enters the middle and the beginning of its climax. In Indonesia, movie cinema does not produce too many movies of this type, however, there are some movies that have serial killers produced in Indonesia that you seem to be required to watch.
Rumah Dara is a PSYCHOTHRILLER movie that spurs adrenaline from the start you watch it to a satisfying ending. The movie directed by The Mo Brothers and starring a number of top Indonesian actresses such as Shareefa Daanish, Imelda Therinne, Arifin Putra, Ruli Lubis, Julie Estelle, Ario Bayu, Sigi Wimala, Daniel Mananta, Mike Lucock, and Dendy Subagil really gave an impression for his fans for the past decade.
The movie produced in 2009 was able to present scenes covered in blood for 95 minutes, even this is the first Indonesian movie that was banned in Malaysia after its premiere in Singapore and simultaneously in Indonesia in January 2010.
Rumah Dara is a movie that tells the story of a husband and wife who are going on vacation to Sydney, Australia, along with a number of their colleagues who failed because they helped a mysterious girl on their way to the airport and claimed to be a robbery victim.
Adjie and Astrid (8 months pregnant) felt sorry for Maya, the girl who was robbed, and together with her three friends, Eko, Alam, and Jimmie, they tried to take Maya to her home first, then continued their journey from Bandung to the airport in Jakarta.
On the way, Ladya has a bad feeling about Maya. After they drove Maya, they hurried to leave again. But Maya detained them and invited them in first to meet her mother named Dara.
After a brief introduction, Dara asked them to stay and have dinner together. Then, one by one they experienced the most tense night.
When trying to escape, Maya comes with her bow and arches her arrow to make Eko's ear hole. When they ran into the forest, Dara took her bow and made Ladya impaled an arrow on her shoulder.
Then they separated because they were chased by Adam. Jimmie was found by Adam and then his neck was broken. Eko tried to defeat Adam, but Adam hit him and returned to chase Ladya. When Eko tried to escape, he reached a small road and saw the light of a car approaching him.
Astrid, who was 8 months pregnant, bleeding, and giving birth, Astrid tried to go out to look for Adjie but met with Dara who then took her baby. But unfortunately, Astrid must die at the hands of Dara.
The scene in this film is full of tense pressure, fear, and various sadistic scenes that will make the people who watch it feel the same way.
Supported by the location of lighting that is dim and focused on each character, as well as a very supportive setting, making this film bring a frightening aura to the end of the film.
Supported by tense sound graphics and various shouts made by each character, making the slaughterhouse characters in Rumah Dara feel very thick.
Rumah Dara, also known as Macabre abroad, is a long debut horror-thriller after it was made available through the Dara slasher short movie in 2007.
This film still deserves a thumbs up for successfully winning several awards, including the Puchon Choice Feature award in South Korea and bringing Shareefa Daanish out as Best Actress.
In my opinion as an Indonesian movie fan, Rumah Dara managed to get out of the stigma of a typical Indonesian horror movie and filled with unclear humor and sexuality that were clearly more prominent than the echoed horror genre.
This movie is highly recommended to be watched by connoisseurs of the horror genre or the slasher, but it is not recommended for people who have heart attacks, because this movie is very adrenaline.
What is the fate of Ladya and other victims? All will be answered when you reach the ending scene in this movie. Here's a little trailer for those of you fans of slasher movie genre, and come from Indonesian cinema.
