Ridiculous walls, stomping freedom of the Press, potentially disastrous trade wars, demeaning allies, bombastic bomb claims, ripping families apart, toying with immigrant children, and now abolishing an established, precedented, cherished choice? And still no clear answer?
As Democrats scramble but seem lost to forge a winning message for the midterms to counter this “Message Master Crafter”, this “Premier Potter of the Distortion Arts”, they find themselves face planted into an existential reality. But are too many asking the wrong question?
Out of a feeling of overwhelming frustration, Democrats seem to be asking the easy one, one that is perhaps too easily turned to in response to this president:
HOW ARE WE LOSING TO THIS CLOWN?
Time to buckle down, hit the abandoned, long forgotten, lightly traveled national high road, and come up with a serious, consistent message? I don’t know that I have heard one yet, from either party.
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
Robert Frost
Is this not our nation's existential choice as well?
