I really like TDV and most of his stuff is solid, but this post is incorrect and tries to use a lack of evidence as evidence. Again, I like most of his material, but let's not falsely accuse people of things. Some points where he TDV goes wrong:
- The richest man in the history of mankind that we know about was John D. Rockefeller, who if you adjust his wealth to inflation, would be worth about $400-600 billion dollars. That's a lot but that's not a trillion. Rockefeller - who unfortunately is hated by many clueless people - actually warned people that charity is destructive if it creates a state of dependency. A documentary recently proved this - giving money for the sake of giving money actually hurts people and doesn't make them self-reliant.
- TDV implies that Lord Rothschild just got into gold. This is incorrect. He was actually is a big investor behind BullionVault and the Rothschild family, in general, has been one of the biggest investors in Rio Tinto throughout the company's history. They lean toward gold now, as many people do because central banks believe that they can control reality and many people realize this is false and dangerous.
- The current central banks believe that they can control reality because of theories they learned in school. While this has failed and I get people's frustration, this is not because of the Rothschild family but because of what Solomon warned in Proverbs that knowledge puffeth up and pride goes before a fall. The Soviet Union has more educated people than the United States and yet it still collapsed. This is not the Rothschild's family's fault. People have overbought education and now they're going to pay the price for doing so.
- Hidden and secret wealth sound great, but you have to realize what both of those words are - no evidence of either. Either put up or shut up. If you say, "We can't find it" consider that even George Soros and others have had wealth leaks where people discovered their wealth. How is this other so hidden from everyone? The skeptic's creed would have said that it doesn't exist like people think, otherwise it would be known.
- People can be Libertarians without the conspiracy theories and contempt for those who are successful.
Update: thanks for the flag! Rather than address any assertion, hiding and flagging is the easy way out. Excellent!
