I can't belive that I took, and uploaded these photos to post, more than a week ago. It feels like a month ago, and just yesterday. As I write, it's dark and the rain is pouring down. It's only just after 2.30 in the afternoon.
Returning to last Wednesday:
When, on the way home from the weekly shopping run, one sees a perfect pair of rainbows, one just has to stop. The gales force wind and rain were not deterrents.
As I was taking them, a fire engine whizzed past and my phone buzzed. A thatched home in the village was alight. By the time I got back, it was razed to the ground. Virtually. I can't bring myself to go and take a photo.
Mercifully no lives were lost. However, another object lesson on keeping chimneys clean and properly managing fires when there is gale force wind and you live in a house with a thatched roof.
Until next time
