My husband and I are still in 's selfie contest, by the skin of our teeth!
We had the grandkids, three under three. The challenge was to put your head under water. The day before we had been blowing sugar all over the kitchen and that had been messy enough, and enough of a fight with them. We just were NOT going have them see us sticking our head in a bucket of water.
We were taking them home in the morning, we had it all planned...
Drop them off at their parents, then drive on into Mordor, I mean Boise, and see our daughter. It is 2-1/2 hours driving one way, so when we go to the valley we try to make it count. We do NOT go to the valley between Thanksgiving and New Year's unless there is a DIRE emergency, so yesterday was our Christmas shopping day. We would head home around 4, be to our local hot spring by 6:30 and get some awesome underwater pics.
Everything was just a little slower than we planned. Our daughter was late getting off work. We did not get on the road out of town until 4:30 which stuck us in some rush hour traffic. When we got about an hour from home the fog set in, people in front of us were going 40 mph on a 65 mph road. We were not going to make it in time to do the hot spring... maybe not make it at all!
We got home with about half an hour to spare. We raced inside and each stuck our head in a pail of water and took a picture. We got them posted in time, just barely! It was pretty silly, how stressed we were by the time we got home. But we are still in the competition!
This is where we usually get into hot water!
Hope all our fellow steemians have a wonderful day, and something awesome to be thankful for today!!!
UPDATE:
Please note I said people were doing 40 on a 65 mph road. Please note I said we just sort of made our peace with being eliminated. We did NOT try to pass people in the fog.
Please pray for these people. This happened less than an hour after we got home, right where our little road meets the highway. I still do not know if they are friends or neighbors, but I know they were fellow humans and their families are in need of love and prayers.
