A hand reaches out - it is empty, save love
It offers to lift you, help you rise above
The place you have fallen, lonely despair
You see their hand, but you don't see them care.
The best things in life are filled up with nothing
When we're empty inside, we think others are bluffing.
We miss the kind gestures, we can't see hidden tears
Our own empty hearts fill our mind with our fears.
The first ray of love-light must come from within
Reach out empty handed, let the healing begin
Let your love soar on broken wings if it must
Love will fly back to you, just give love, and trust.

This photo was taken on Tobacco Caye in Belize. The man would take the kitchen scraps to the dock after every meal and throw them into the air for the frigate birds. He was not just taking out the trash, he was feeding his friends, he was sharing the love in his heart. My moral to this story? Sometimes it may look like people are offering you garbage, but it is the best expression of love they are capable of offering.
