Spring is definitely springing. Lets go have a look around! The north slope was white last week, is mostly green now. The cows were out frolicking like calves yesterday. It is strangely adorable to see a half a ton kick up its heels!
All photos taken with my old Galaxy Samsung cell phone, it is the last thing I have that still speaks to my computer...
They are not frolicking at the moment, they are just looking at me like "Where is dinner?" I will be glad when the monsoon season is over. They always look so nasty this time of year. Poor babies!
Angus hide dirt better than Holsteins.
The muddy season has its charms, to be sure. My little waterfall just makes the happiest sounds while it lasts! Out here in the boondocks you can hear the babbling nearly anywhere on the property.
My permaculture design would extend its season, if I live long enough to implement it!
The voles have been absolutely invasive. I think a cat is in my not too distant future. Although those propane things look like a lot of twisted fun, I would need a LOT of propane to deal with this mess!
Caddyshack time?
Over on the south slope, flowers are getting ready to bust out. Just foliage so far, but these are usually among the early bloomers.
Lovage, I think. I will tell you for sure when it blooms!
The culvert we put in is draining off our most inconveniently located seasonal spring - right beside our driveway.
Drain the swamp!
It has helped a lot. However, there remains room for improvement. This is our "prime" parking spot...
Some people drive for miles and miles to go "muddin' - I am just lucky, I guess!
Well, not really a lot to see yet, thanks for taking a stroll with me! I guess I should go check on dinner.
Not ready yet.
I know, that was a little dark... but I am hoping you are not vegan and it made you smile! I will do a full update on the chicks tomorrow. Hope the rest of your Wednesday is lovely, and that Thursday is even better!
