Hello friends, I hope you are very well, this week I have been very active with the drawings and the truth is that I have had a wonderful time. This time it is the turn of another Joker, but not Jack Nicholson or Heat Ledger, this time it is the turn of Joaquin Phoenix, who in 2019 gave us one of the best interpretations of this character, showing us the beginnings of the clown king of crime and how he sank into madness. One of the scenes that impacted me the most was his appearance on TV and what he did, the truth is that I was very impressed so I took one of the few scenes and drew them. I hope you like it.
Hola amigos espero que se encuentren muy bien, esta semana he estado muy activo con los dibujos y la verdad es que la he pasado de maravilla. Esta vez le toca el turno a otro Joker, pero no a Jack Nicholson ni a Heat Ledger, esta vez es el turno de Joaquin Phoenix, quien en el año 2019 nos dio una de las mejores interpretaciones de este personaje, mostrándonos los inicios del payaso de rey del crimen y como se hundió en la locura. Una de las escenas que más me impactó fue su aparición en TV y lo que hizo, la verdad me impresionó mucho así que tome una de escas escenas y las dibujé. Espero que les agrade.
PROCESS
I made this portrait on black cardboard, I think it suits the character more. Also as you can see I made a sketch of the face starting from the nose and from there towards the inside of the face like lips and eyes. After finishing the sketch with lines I started to paint it, this time I didn't use the regular wax crayon but I used directly white pastel chalk pencil, I think it helps more to make the pale face of the joker, but of course a simple layer and then the others are added.
Hice este retrato en cartulina de color negro, pienso que le queda más al personaje. Tambien como pueden observar hice un boceto del rostro comenzando desde la nariz y de ahí hacia el interior del rostro como labios y ojos. Luego de terminar el boceto con líneas comencé a pintarlo, esta vez no usé el creyón de cera regular sino que utilicé directamente lapiz de tiza pastel color blanco, creo que ayuda más a hacer la cara pálida del joker, pero por supuesto una simple capa y luego se le agregan las demas.
After this I began to give volume to the face with the color white, you know, everything that is the eyelids, the forehead, the cheeks, all are lines of expression that must be highlighted and we must go little by little making the strokes. Once done, I begin to paint the clown makeup on the Joker's face, with the red color I paint part of the nose and then the lips and the outside of the mouth.
Después de esto comencé a darle volumen al rostro con el color blanco, ustedes saben, todo lo que son los párpados, la frente, las mejillas, todas son líneas de expresión que deben resaltarse y debemos ir poco a poco haciendo los trazos. Una vez realizado comienzo a pintar el maquillaje de payaso en el rostro del Joker, con el color rojo pinto parte de la nariz y seguidamente los labios y el exterior de la boca.
Then I begin to shape another tone of skin color, since the paint that the Joker uses does not completely cover his face, in the same way in the shadows that are in the lower part of the face I accentuate them with a brown color dark, not leaving them only black. So I also start to paint the rest of the makeup, which in this case is dark turquoise blue.
Seguidamente comienzo a dar forma a otro tono del color de la piel, ya que la pintura que el Joker usa no cubre por completo su rostro, de la misma forma en las sombras que hay en la parte inferior del rostro las acentúo con un color cafe oscuro, no dejándolas solo de color negro. Así también comienzo a pintar el resto del maquillaje que en este caso es de color azul turquesa oscuro.
The next and last step was to paint the eyes and make the shadow that is generated on the eyelids very well, for this I use a black marker, so I make the iris of the eyes darker but also adding a brown tone. I also painted part of the clothes that the Joker is wearing which is a scarlet red suit, not forgetting to outline and paint the hair, so I made white lines first and then I made other green lines. As you can see, it is not completely visible since I wanted it to look like the face emerging from the shadows. In this way I finished the drawing.
El siguiente y último paso fue pintar los ojos y hacer muy bien la sombra que se genera en los párpados, para ello utilizo un marcador de color negro, así hago el iris de los ojos más oscuro pero agregándole también un tono marrón. También pinté parte de la ropa que tiene puesta el Joker que es un traje de color rojo escarlata, sin olvidar delinear y pintar el cabello, así que hice líneas de color blanco en primer lugar y después hice otras líneas de color verde. Como pueden observar no se ve completamente ya que quise que se viera como el rostro emergiendo de las sombras. De esta manera di por finalizado el dibujo.
FINAL WORK
This is how the drawing of Joaquein Phoenix as the Joker was finished, after finishing it I couldn't resist the temptation to watch the movie one more time, and it really is great, the plot is simple, but Phoenix with his performance makes the story so enveloping and deep, I recommend them, whoever has not seen it yet, will have a great time. Así quedó finalizado el dibujo de Joaquein Phoenix como el Joker, luego de finalizarlo no resistí la tentación de ver la película una vez mas, y realmente es buenísima, la trama es sencilla, pero Phoenix con su actuación hace que la historia sea tan envolvente y profunda, se las recomiendo, a quien no la haya visto todavía, la pasará muy bien.
