Rolling in the Deep
You all know where that reference came from, but these meat-free sausage rolls made by De Vegetarische Slager are regularly sold out, so they just can't make enough of them. Not only do they look atheistically pleasing to the eye, they smell incredible and that first waft of air as you open the oven becomes a poignant memory, truly unforgettable. Once again, one cannot tell the difference between the conventional meat filled sausage roll, and in fact in my personal opinion, these are the most flavoursome sausage rolls I have ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot having originated from London. Anyone heard of Greggs the bakery? ;-D
Into the oven
Don't mind the meat free Little Willies sausages placed next to the sausage rolls, they were from my last post, but cooked at the same time.
Out of the oven
The finished product
Look at how brown and delicious looking they are, plus you cannot deny the similarity to the sausage roll we all know of today. I had included a photo of the Little Willies sausages and sausage rolls side-by-side, so you can see it looks like a carnivore's dream platter, but it's completely meat-free! Check out the quote from the Independent, there's a vegetarian revolution taking place.
