Bright and early I headed out for a mile run. I felt like utter hell through all of it and my body was bitching and moaning. I ended up walking four different times during my trudge but when I got back to the house my time was a few seconds shy of my normal 10 min mile. So it appears that despite my body screaming at me I am starting to return to running form, albeit slowly.
Much of my day was taken up with various tasks and chores but I took an hour or so to rummage around the farm for something I could use for building a hydro setup. I was recently given a bunch of gardening pots and in the bag was a stack of these hydroponics grow pots. My idea is to build myself a setup to grow greens since they never do that great in the garden. I have 26 of the little pots, a bag of hydroton, and liquid nutrients now all I need is a little pump and something to mount the pots in. I've got pvc pipe sitting around but am likely to have to buy a couple lengths of new stuff and fittings.
The weather has finally warmed enough that I can pull the tank heater from the sheep water. Since it is not freezing as much at night I will be setting out the rest of their water buckets to fill soon.
In the evening the boys and I went to scouts. The grange was an ice box so we parents sat on the step outside while the boys played tag and king of the brush pile. Next week will be crappier weather so we will be doing something crafty inside. In a couple weeks we will be taking the boys for a garbage pickup day around one of the local lakes.
I went out for a 2 mile run this morning and felt MUCH better, still sore but much better than yesterday and my time is improving now to 9:43/miles. Today I need to work on the studio ceiling some, move some craft supply boxes to the studio to get them out of the kitchen after having done J's flooring, and I am looking for a sluice box setup to buy for the boys to learn to use in our creek. Mt Spokane is not known for gold, more so for uranium, but there could still be a flake or two of placer floating around since it is in the mountains around.
