As I have said last-last day I will share in another article on how I cooked the famous kakanin here in the Philippines which is "Biko". I'm sorry I dont know how do you called it in English, but here in our Country it's Biko.
Last November 20, 2022 we went to my Uncle's place because we are invited to his son's birthday which is my cousin. And since it's not our topic let's get to the point. Before we went home that day My Aunt give us a "Sticky Rice". Which is it's the main ingredient in making or cooking Biko.
Now that we had the sticky rice, let's prepare the ingredients:
INGRDIENTS:
- 5 cups sticky rice
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 kg.sugar brown or kalamay 1/2 of whole
- peanut (optional)
- anis
- 6 cups water
Now that we have our ingredients, let's start cooking.
1.Washed and cooked the sticky rice.
2.And while we are cooking the sticky rice let's make the "Latik". But first let's, squeeze the grated coconut to produced coconut milk.
3.Separate the first squeeze from the 2nd time squeeze. And then prepare a pan and pour all the 2nd squeeze into it. Then bring it to boil. When it boil pour the first squeeze coconut milk.
4.Just like the first squeeze coconut milk, put the kalamay also together with it as it boils. And wait until the kalamay dissolve. And bring it to boil again.
5.At this moment the sticky rice that you cooked is already cooked. Then let it cool for a while.
6.And after that let's see if the kalamay with coconut milk is already boil. If yes put the peanut and anis. And mixed them well for atleast 5 minutes.
7.Now let's put the cooked sticky rice into the pan. But before that, let's take a small amount of latik first for our toppings later.
8.Mixed them thoroughly to combined well. Then it's ready to served.
9.Put the toppings if you have and then Served.
Just like that everyone. Were done and my first timenin cooking this is not that bad. I actually did it, and I am so proud that I did it. It's indeed I am already a chef. And I am proudly say that your "Pinay Home Chef" named me by sir is finally back. 🙂🙂🙂
