One of the things I learned fast in Taiwan, is that not all toilets are equal. Very quickly I found out that many older restaurants and stores had what is called ,squat toilets. I did not have the talent and coordination necessary to be successful in those situations.  Many places that had several toilets had one sit toilet if you looked hard enough. I even found a handicapped squat toilet one day. It was not perfect, but better than the regular ones. So next time you need to use the toilet in Asia, remember to consider where you are and take full advantage of newer and modern facilities when you see them.
