A Senior Russian politician made a statement that Russia should have it's own "home grown" version of Bitcoin and Ethereum. He referenced that Russia has a "school of cryptography" and this would be a better way.
All this comes as much has been made about Russia proactively embracing Bitcoin (mining farm investments) and Ethereum.
It seems there is still some of that "old guard mentality" in Russia politics of "power and control" over the people.
Good thing he isn't calling the shots!
