So I've been here for 7 days, thought Id write a very pessimistic 7 thoughts on what I've found so far.
NB: First off if these thoughts/ramblings are in any way wrong I'm not adverse to you telling me so, this written piece is what I've found from checking out various posts with a pessimistic mind and would be happy for you to tell me how to go about things differently if I have it wrong.

Pessimistic Thought 1. If you are a pretty woman with a nice picture for your introduction piece you will earn Steem and in some cases a lot of steem - even more so if you have less clothing on.
Pessimistic Thought 2. I suppose this also will run off Thought 1 - if you manage to gather a following and you are female you will seem to earn on average more for your work, once again, if it is fronted by a pretty picture of yourself. Even if it is utter tripe you write or steal pictures from the web and post it as your own.
Pessimistic Thought 3. Better to launch your post US morning time (EDT) - if you are halfway round the world and post at your normal time you will not earn steem. If you do not post during US time the people that matter (whales) will not see your post (as they are asleep) and you will not earn steem.
Pessimistic Thought 4. If you have not earnt steem in the first 30 mins of release, odds are you will not earn steem and your post will fall into oblivion, this is especially pertinent if you are a new user. Your masterpiece will never see the light of day again except for when you bring up your blog details. That is unless you manage to get into the top 10 hot or trending headings buttons at the top of the screen but that wont happen - as you are the lowest of the low - a noob.
Pessimistic Thought 5. People rarely say thank you for you up-voting their post and giving them the lifeblood of why they are here in the first place - steem (you will always get people saying they are not here for steem but because they love contributing to social media, I say baa humbug). You may on some occasions get a response to a comment you've made.
Pessimistic Thought 6. You cannot re-release your post even if you make changes for the better, even if the post will have completely changed. You are better to write the exact same piece again as a new 'Submit a Story' with the changes incorporated.
Pessimistic Thought 7. There are a lot of bots about (to be fair I thought this was sort of illegal in Steemit, obviously I was wrong) - responding to your posts. With responses such as I've up-voted you, remember me when you're rich.
So there you go. A bit of a sour lemons piece - but that is just what I feel I've seen over the last 7 days. I love writing pessimistic thoughts get ready for more. It wont be about Steemit next time though ha :)
