(I took this photo yesterday after my workout, from my balcony, while lying in the hammock with a cold non-alcoholic beer and enjoying the beautiful weather.)
Hi Actifitters,
it has been a while since I last did push-ups and/or dumbbell training. Since learning that my persistent shoulder problems are due to osteoarthritis, I have largely stopped doing anything related to strength training.
Yesterday, however, I decided to give it another shot and tested the waters with a range of exercises—everything from push-ups and dumbbell curls to single-arm dumbbell rows and assisted pull-ups. Naturally, I kept the weight on the dumbbells very light. I simply wanted to see how my shoulder would react to such a workout, and I have to say, so far I haven't felt any negative effects. If things stay this way, I will gradually start incorporating more and more strength training back into my routine.
Afterwards, I completed two additional training sessions suggested by Zwift on my indoor bike trainer.
Today I'm going hiking with a few friends. It won't be anything strenuous, just a casual outing together to a mountain inn, where we'll have lunch and enjoy the idyllic mountain scenery.
