Howdy!
Weather forecasts were very inconsistent over the last few days, but there was one thing they all agreed on: snow! Some meteorologists predicted 3-5 inches, others 5-9. Waking up to an obvious lack of a snowstorm, I headed down to the coffee shop to work. That's when the snow hit!
It wasn't really a surprise and I had planned for a snowy hike back up the hill. I'd brought one of my weather sealed lenses (the one with broken manual focus switch) and was hoping to get some snowy photos. The weather didn't disappoint, either. A few gently falling snowflakes quickly became a substantial snowfall.
It was a lovely hike up the hill and the sight of the big Catholic church in the storm was worth pausing for a few photos. It's doubtful the Saturday night mass was very well attended tonight!
The storm isn't supposed to let up intil noon tomorrow and we've already gotten more than six inches of snow. It's heavy and wet, makking shoveling the driveway a good bit of exercise. Fortunately, tomorrow's Sunday and I have a few pots' worth of coffee beans left. The driveway can wait until I'm ready for it.
Fresh snow is quite beautiful, even though it can make driving a bit complicated. I hope to get out early for another walk around town and see what the storm's aftermath has left.
