I work in an office all day. Everyday.
A computer screen is my constant companion. Through it I see the world. Through it I speak to people. It is amazing how little an accountant can actually do without one in today's modern world. Gone are the ancient hardcovered ledgers where pages can be added. Where information is carefully and neatly recorded in ink. Yes, the musty old tomes are gone forever (unless there is a nuclear war and the survivors would have to go back to using manual systems)
So what do I do to get some other life in my cluttered office (yes I looove clutter - it gives me comfort)?
I keep a flower, preferably a violet plant.
We are in the dead of winter, South African style. We very rarely get snow due to the lack of moisture in the air up here in the highveld. So my violet is a pampered plant. Water must always be in the luckless saucer whereupon the plant resides. Luckless because it gets crusted with residues of plant and water, unlike its clean family members in the company kitchen cupboard.
The plant seems to love me and for my honour has displayed some plants.
Watch the developing buds. Try do this and share it with me, I love these kind of pictures.
