Selfless Generosity
A couple of days ago, I introduced to the members of my new community, FreeCompliments, a proposition for how we can increase engagement within the community as it grows. One of the ideas involved providing Ecency Boosts for those individuals whose posts included (the FreeCompliments community account) as a post beneficiary. To my pleasant surprise, multiple people contributed Ecency points to the account, including
,
,
, and
. Additionally,
delegated some HP (on top of
’s initial contribution 1 couple of months ago).
However, one offer in particular stood out to me. Being a small fish in a big pond myself, another small fish (in terms of Hive Power, but not of soul) attempted an act of generosity befitting of a truly selfless individual. Although I am neither Christian nor religious, it was an act that reminded me of “The Widow’s Offering” story that is mentioned in the Bible, one with which I am familiar through outside contexts and references. It is an example of virtue at its finest.
This act came about due to errors which have been on the Ecency frontend for the past couple of days. An attempt by this individual to donate Ecency points to the FC account was unsuccessful, and they retried a few times. I can confirm this to be an actual issue, as I had the same situation when I tried to send Ecency points over to , and was subsequently met with a delay of several hours before the transaction was successfully completed. However, I also noted that multiple attempts at sending ultimately resulted in multiple successful transfers. As such, this individual would have sent a few times their intended transfer.
As I pointed out this occurrence, this kind, generous individual did not pay mind, and instead declined the prospect of having the excessively donated Ecency points returned. Indeed, this person wanted all sent Ecency points to be kept in the name of the FC community.
The Culprit of Generosity:
, this post is to honor your selfless donation, giving what little you have in the name of something that you believe in, with no expectation of return. Ecency should be proud to have a person like this among them. I implore the community to shower them with the compliments they most certainly deserve.

Thank you for being you, , and for inspiring me to continue my mission. It’s people like you who remind me of the reasons that this is all worthwhile.
