Yesterday I went for a walk in the neighborhood during my lunch break. It was sunny and I noticed blossom everywhere. A lot of trees and bushes were into bloom. It's lovely to see the streets turning colorful with the white and pink flowers. Spring has truly arrived.
What I especially like about blossom season is that not everything blooms at the same time. Some trees start as early as the end of March, while others flower in April. And even in May and sometimes early June. But most of them bloom in April.
They are mostly white (or rather light pink) or a darker shade of pink. On a day with a blue sky like yesterday the contract of the flowers and the sky is very nice.
The only sad thing is that the blossom doesn't last that long. Most of the times it only lasts a week or two and then you'll find all the petals along the curb.
I have a couple of blossming trees in my backyard as well. An apple, almond and a Japanese Crabapple. Crabapple is a big tree that turns dark pink first and lighter when the buds open up. It also attracts a lot of bees then. I'll share some pictures when that one is in bloom around May.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on my blog. Feel free to share your perspective in the comments.
