I found a new reason to keep going to the Springleaf area... it's the best and most affordable food that I can find in the area. It's a quaint neighborhood but it's also a place where good business thrive. The crowd is coming over to have a pleasant dining experience with their friends and family.
Yesterday, I managed to return to Springleaf and try the Kway Chap at Beng Cheng restaurant.
It was the other week when I was able to try the Ngee Fou (Hakka) Ampang Yong Tau Fou food stall and it was a satisfying and filling meal. It was worth the price because of the serving size which could be enough for two persons. However, a big eater like me is able to finish the meal without needing anyone's help, lol.
For this Kway Chap experience, I ordered a bowl of rice and a bowl of noodles as well. I wanted to compare which one is going to be the best for my preference.
In this set of Kway Chap meals, all of the items are pre-selected by the chef so there's nothing for me to decide on which is good for this case. I wouldn't know which among the items will be my preference at this point. The items are:
- Pork belly
- Pork intestine
- Pork skin
- 3 types of tofu
- fish cake
- hard-boiled egg
It may not seem that many but it's actually very filling especially when eaten together with the noodles and rice. The noodles were blanched in boiling water and then the herbal soup was poured in a bowl together with it. I think that herbal soup is so good and it tastes healthy as well.
The chili sauce goes well with each of the items because it adds tanginess to the dish. It wasn't spicy at all because they mixed a good amount of tomato sauce in it.
It's definitely one of the best Kway Chap meals that I ever have had. The food was fresh and tasty. It was satisfying enough that I was recharged and ready for another stroll!
