Lately, the rain has been visiting quite often, and because of that, the walkway has started to look different. The ground feels more alive, the grass looks heavier with moisture, and small mushrooms have begun appearing in different corners. I was just walking along the path when I noticed a bunch of them growing close together, almost hiding between the blades of grass.
It was one of those simple scenes that could easily be ignored, but for me, it was interesting enough to make me stop. I had to squat down just to get closer and frame them properly. From that lower angle, they looked more fascinating than they first appeared. Their small rounded caps, wet surfaces, and the messy grass around them created a quiet little world of their own.
I also decided to process these photos in black and white because it helped bring out the texture and contrast. Without the distraction of color, the shapes became more noticeable. The shine from the rain, the dark shadows under the mushrooms, and the fine details of the grass all stood out better.
Moments like this remind me that opportunities can appear in the most ordinary places. Sometimes, we only need to slow down and pay attention. These mushrooms were not planted for display, and they were not in a special garden, yet they still became a subject worth capturing.
I think that is one of the things I enjoy most about photography. It teaches me not to rush past small details. Beauty does not always announce itself loudly. Sometimes, it quietly grows along the walkway after the rain, waiting for someone to notice.
Have a nice day ahead.
