About malicious websites mining crypto with your computing power.
Last week news hit, that multiple government agencies in the UK and US had been compromised by Coinhive, a browserbased cryptocurrency mining snippet. Apparently Browsealoud, an accesibility plugin, that reads text aloud on a website, had been injected with Coinhive and websites that were using this plugin, began unknowingly using their visitors CPU power to mine Monero.

The breach was luckily discovered quite soon - ccn.com argues that it was perhaps due to the scale of the attack - and a following investigation returned, that the perps had made a whopping $24 worth of Monero via the breach!
Bitcoin.com elaborates more on this:
One million visitors spending five minutes on a website would result in a total of $64 of monero being mined.
They argue that the problem has been vastly overstated and many sophisticated criminals aren't even considering this method, not because they lack the skills, but because of the obvious inprofitability. My thinking here is though, that while it may be very unprofitable to the perps, it will still be a massive drag on my PC and my resources. Mine and probably your time too, is very valuable. so keep blocking those miners.

Need to unload your Bitcoin profits? Consider buying an apartment with it. Michelle Mone, a lingerie tycoon and her boyfriend decided to put 50 of their 1300 development project up for sale for Bitcoin.
The 50 Dubai apartments got bought up so quickly that Mone and her boyfriend are considering to bring more apartments to the market for Bitcoin. According to the pair, msot of the buyers were regular people, who had got suddenly rich with cryptocurrencies and were now cashing out their earnings.
Additionally Mone also runs a home design compamny, whose services can also be recruited using Bitcoin. While the pair hasnt yet brought new apartments to the market for sale for Bitcoin, inquiries about this are piling high. In the end it's good to see regular people making use of their Bitcoin earnings. If you keep a level head on the markets, cryptocurrencies will take you far.
