The other day I came across a publication where the author showed us black and white photographs, mentioning that black and white was a magical world. I have to admit that I agree with him, black and white photographs are certainly magical and enigmatic.
I have to suppose that there are many photographs that can be taken in black and white but not all of them look good with this effect, I for one wanted to put this into practice and I spent an afternoon going out to several places where I took several pictures for this purpose.
El otro día me encontré una publicación donde su autor nos mostraba fotografías a blanco y negro, mencionando que el blanco y negro era un mundo mágico. He de admitir que concuerdo con él, las fotografías a blanco y negro ciertamente son mágicas y enigmáticas.
Yo he de suponer que hay muchas fotografías que pueden tomarse a blanco y negro pero no todas lucen bien con este efecto, yo por mi parte quise poner en práctica esto y me dediqué una tarde a salir a varios sitios en donde tomé varias fotos para este propósito.
I took pictures of a truck, specifically the hood decoration of a truck. I thought it was interesting the contrast the dog makes with the white background of the hood. In black and white it looks great.
I walked around an abandoned building where I managed to take another interesting picture that, in my opinion, also looks good in black and white, since it is an abandoned building and this gives it a more mysterious and peculiar touch.
Tomé fotografías de un camión, específicamente la decoración del capó de un camión. Me pareció interesante el contraste que hace el perro con el fondo blanco del capó. A blanco y negro se ve genial.
Me paseé por una edificación abandonada donde logré tomar otra fotografía bastante interesante que, en mi opinión, también luce bien a blanco y negro, ya que es una edificación abandonada y esto le da un toque mas misterioso y peculiar.
I managed to capture the moment when a small insect wandered through the tiny slit in the facade of a wall. I have no idea how I managed to see the little centipede, if it is even called that, but as soon as I saw it walking around, I crouched down to take more pictures.
This is something you might miss if you don't stop to observe, hence the importance of sitting down to observe when you are looking to take pictures, because sometimes the magic is in the smallest things.
Logré capturar el momento en que un pequeño insecto se paseaba por la diminuta rendija de la fachada de una pared. No tengo idea de cómo logré ver el pequeño cienpies, si acaso se llama así, pero apenas lo vi caminando por allí, me agaché para tomar mas fotos.
Esto es algo que uno podría pasar desapercibido si no se detiene a observar, de ahí la importancia de sentarse a observar cuando uno busca tomar fotografías, pues la magia a veces está en las cosas más pequeñas.
On the other hand, I took pictures on an escalator. I was struck by the similar shapes on one side and the other, so I wanted to try a photograph with symmetry, but in motion it is not always easy.
I captured a display of some cups that make a good contrast, because besides the reflections, they are of different colors and make a good match when the images are edited to black and white.
Por otra parte, tomé fotografías en una escalera eléctrica. Me llamó la atención las formas tan similares que había de jn lado y de otro, así que quise intentar una fotografía con simetría, pero en movimiento no siempre es fácil.
También capturé una exhibición de unas tazas que hacen buen contraste, pues además de los reflejos, son de colores diferentes y hacen buen juego cuando se editan las imágenes a blanco y negro.
As you can see, I am not an expert in black and white but I always like to experiment in photography, an art in which I am an amateur, not an expert at all, but I certainly love it.

Como ven, no soy un experto en el tema a blanco y negro pero siempre me gusta experimentar en fotografía, un arte en el que soy un aficionado, para nada un experto, pero ciertamente me encanta.
