Hello everyone! And (belated) Happy Easter! 🐰
I know that perhaps most of you celebrated Easter last week but on this part of the globe most of us celebrate it this weekend so I thought that it's right in time for some shopping with this purpose, as well as share what we've found in the Easter Market held in town that matched perfectly with the #MarketFriday thing organized by .
I won't lie saying that this is the first time held in town but it's actually my first time getting to see one because last year during this period the weather was pretty crazy and I've spent most of my time either at home or doing preparations for the Easter meal. The weather wasn't too good this time either as we were pretty close to celebrating Easter with snow outside but somehow things changed in the last 2-3 days and managed to get back to 15°C right in time, so cheers to the sunny days we've been missing for so long!
Anyway, enough with the stories and let's better take a look at what I, my sister and my boyfriend found at the Easter Market we visited recently. 🥚
We visited the market 2 days away since it was officially opened so being still a fresh thing and also during the weekend, there were plenty of people stopping by. Walking in a crowd is not one of my favorite things just because I always preferred places less known by people or just not that busy, but I guess no matter the day or time we would visit this, it would still gather lots of curious eyes in search for some specific ornaments or small gifts to offer to their loved ones.
Happily, there were also quite a few spots dedicated to kids where parents could leave their little ones to have fun while they did shopping, remembering the colorful tent where children could search for eggs, the train rides, the carousel, or even some sort of trampoline that had the longest queue.
When it came to Easter ornaments, we were quite disappointed to find just a few chalets having this kind of things because 90% of them came with the common fridge magnets or jewelry that you can find in the rest of the year too, so we skipped these pretty quickly looking out just for the Easter themed ones.
Most of these shops are also available during the rest of the year too, but they did an extra effort to decorate specific things for Easter, like the candles carved in the shape of an egg or the painted wood in the shape of an egg too. As you can see, both of the shops have their original products in the background so the Easter ones are definitely not something that you will see in the rest of the year too. I'd love to see more of the shops doing the same thing, but considering that from what I heard renting a chalet in the center of Sibiu is not that cheap, I guess not everyone considered the efforts worth it.
Two shops that got my attention though, even if they had nothing to do with the Easter Holidays, were the one with natural syrups and honey where I've first heard of syrup made from the wasp venom which is supposed to relieve pain and treat inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and tendonitis.
The other shop that I liked was the one with precious and semi-precious stones that you could buy both in raw shape but also transposed into sculptures or jewelry. My boyfriend likes this kind of stones and it slowly gave me an interest into them as well. ❤️
If the crowd gets you tired quickly as it happened for us, there are also some hidden resting spots located just behind the chalets where you can sit on a bench and read a book, as well as delight your eyes with the secret messages left on each chalet that brought us a lot of smiles.
There was also a place where you could donate books, but also some bunnies places in a cage between painted eggs that gathered both children and adults around them. It's hard to pass by without starring at the little ones doing their living without caring too much about the crowd. 😃
Anyway, after getting to check every single shop we finally decided what to purchase and ended up with two small painted eggs made of plastic that you can hang as ornaments on the door handle or the cabinet openers, but also a decorative basket that suits perfectly with this time of the year. The lady selling these even added a few extra small eggs in the basket just to make it even more suggestive for the Easter Holidays.
Did you purchase any Easter ornaments for this period?
Personally, I feel like this is going to slowly turn into how Chritsmas Holidays look like, with plenty of ornaments and the gift giving thing. 😁
SEE YOU IN THE NEXT TRIP! 🗾
