While we are used to celebrating Christmas with lots of gifts given to our loved ones, since there are just 2 days left before the most awaited period of the year, the new Live Summit released in The Crew 2 seems like didn't want to make us forget about the holidays knocking at the door so the weekly event released is called quite suggestive - Icy Xmas.
The Icy Xmas is a themed event concurring with the Christmas holiday season, that will run between 22 - 29 December and it represents the 3rd Christmas-themed event featured in The Crew 2 since the Summits were released.
However, this comes with something new from the previous events as most of the races will be held while snowing outside, but I'll let the pictures talk for themselves! āļø
Though, let's have one more short gaming session before Christmas and take a look at each race from the Icy Xmas Life Summit that was just released:
- Escape - more of a skill than a race but where you are needed to drive as fast as possible and get away from a red dot that is slowly covering the map. You have to get at least 920 meters away from it to win the race. [No Restriction Race]
- Slalom - an off-road race where you are making slalom between various objects placed on the ground and collect at least 3,100 points to qualify further. [No Restriction Race]
- Slalom - basically the same thing with the previous race but where you are making the slalom on the street and need to collect 4,940 points. [No Restriction Race]
- Alpha Grand Prix - probably one of the most exciting disciplines in this game if you are an F1 fan, but where you won't compete against Hamilton or Verstappen but only need to get on one of the Top 3 places to win the race. [Alpha Mark II required]
- Street - one of the most common races in most of the racing games where you need to reach the Top 3 to have the race marked as completed. [No Restriction Race]
- Motocross - another off-road race that is not so often met in the Live Summits but where you are driving a bike and need to get in Top 3 to win this. [No Restriction Race]
- Street - as its name says, you will enjoy one more race on the streets but where you will have to drive a specific car and also get in the Top 3. [R8 Coupe V10 Plus required]
- Drag - another race that is quite short because you are not competing with other players but only need to cross an area on the map faster than 00:13.433 minutes. [HuP ONE Inferno Edition required]
- Rally - ending the event with another off-road race where you are driving a Rally car against another player that is using a Cross car. You still need to finish the race faster than 05:46.000 minutes to win it. [MX-5 Miata NA required]
I think there is no need to remind you how much I love those Slalom races especially if I can use a bike for it, because I feel it more like a dance rather than a race, and I think the score I earned on these two says more than I can. š
On the Escape skill, after hitting the retry button a few times, I managed to figure out that if you make the race in the opposite direction from where the game respawns, will help you get a higher score and get further than required. I also did this in my previous attempts, but I was only able to exceed the 100,000 points goal I've set for myself, by going in the opposite direction from the start.
I had some problems on the 4th race, namely the Alpha Grand Prix one because the car I was required to drive didn't have the best handling and so I couldn't get too fast on the trail, but hey! At least I still finished in the first position! š
Unfortunately, I didn't afford to purchase both of the cars that I needed for this event and missed buying the R8 Coupe V10 Plus one which is around 520,000 bucks, but I will keep playing the daily and weekly challenges of The Contractor season that should bring me some more money and manage to get the last car needed for the Live Summit before a new one is released.
Until then, let's enjoy the winter and white landscape we get at least in the game, since not everyone has winter on their part of the world! āļø
