Anyhow, summer is about to end in few days and there are still tons of activities prepared for kids , young adults, and adults at the malls! One of the events that SM Downtown Premier prepared was the Boysen Colorplay which is open to people of all ages. I assume, as long as you know the basic idea of painting, then yky are good to go!
As I have online, this event is nationwide and will be available for few days. That means a lot of people could still enjoy it!
Mechanics
Regardless of the age, interested mall-goers are asked to fall in line so that they could participate in the event.
When it is your turn, you will be asked to get inside the hub and then you will see a lot of wood cuttings shaped into various style and painting with specific base colors. You can only pick one wooden block of every shape. It really took me a long time to search for the colors that I like though.
There are no chairs around but only tables. Well, I find this idea effective so that only a few would participate. It is also great so that not everyone would spend hours paiting instead. Aside from that, articipants could have discourse to other people as well.
I started with the round shape by painting the stems for the flowers. Though the colors are limited, I tried to mazimize what was available. The palette that was used were more into pastel colors.
And here is the process for the bird. I actually do not have a pencil to begin with and a thin paintbrush. Next time, I should always bring them with me.
And for the last piece, I wanted to make a mini version of Starry Starry Night by Van Gogh. Unfortunately I could not find suitable colors. The paintbrushes were then used by everyone around.
And these are our final products. On top was of my mom, Dahlia of . The organizers provided a dryer to be utilized. And also, the good news is that WE CAN TAKE HOME OUR WORKS! Isn't it amazing?
