I am me: #002 - Hardworking

Let me clarify what I mean because hardworking doesn't necessarily, or solely, pertain to being at work; working hard applies to anything a person does in which effort, consistency and persistence, diligence, grit, determination, discipline and energy is injected and can be physical, emotional and mental.

Along the course of my life I've been hardworking in respect of my relationships, sporting endeavours, studies and training, my music, writing and hobbies and have certainly applied the "hardworking ethos" towards my love of nature and the outdoors, growing things, relaxation, downtime, socially, my thoughts and attitudes, being a good uncle to my niece and nephew, an attentive and giving lover (this one is super-important) and...well, let's just say I've injected effort into fucken everything in my life because life is far too short to live by default, accident, happenstance, lazily and in any other manner than fully.

Other people? Well, they're on their own and what they do generally doesn't effect me, but when it does affect me I allow and encourage those people who have lazy attitudes - which shows a weak character - to drift away; but let's call it what it is...those people can fuck off! I actively work towards making that happen too because I don't need or want people like that around me. I don't judge them, but I have my opinions and am clear about the type of people I want to surround myself with. I work hard at that too, controlling my influences.

I think society is getting very lazy - has gotten lazy - and I believe that while it may seem harmless it is very damaging to individuals and society generally - it's not going to go well in the future; it's not going well now so why would it?

Often people relate the words hard working to work/job environments and situations but I think it applies in all aspects of life and that there's so many things we should be working harder at achieving - I believe hard work pays off - although it's not always easy to do because hard work...can be hard to do.

I'm of the belief we owe it to ourselves to work hard and so I do and looking back on my achievements, around me now and into the future, I can clearly see that hard work has paid off.

I'm proud of my work ethic in every respect including how I apply it in my professional and personal life, relationships, passions and so on, but what about you?
