The roof over her head
was not enough to hold out
the pouring rain.
There is always that someone that doesn't have enough.
Not enough food, not enough water, not enough money, not enough education; not enough roof over their heads.
No matter how down you think you are, there is someone lower; someone who would wish to be like you.
This is to those ones
..............
To the ones with less than enough to survive.
To the ones who struggle to live each day.
To the ones who take life as it comes with the storms.
To the ones whose leaking roof isn't enough to hold out the pouring rain.
A Haiku is a short Japanese Poem consisting of 3 lines.
Traditionally, Japanese haikus consist of 17 syllables, in three phrases of five, seven and five syllables respectively. Among contemporary poems teikei (fixed form) haiku continue to use the 5-7-5 pattern while jiyuritsu (free form) haiku do not.
This is a Jiyuritsu Haiku.
