You were excited the first time you heard about Steemit, a decentralized social network and blogging site which pays users for posting creative contents.
You were told that Steemit pays STEEM, a token that can be converted to fiat on major crypto exchanges. Your eyes brightened greatly; you wanted to make some money. You wanted to deploy your writing skills and smile to the bank. You were tired of Facebook and other shit sites that exploit their users. So, you joined Steemit.
It is now six months since you joined Steemit. You have attained a reputation score of (54) but your Steem Power falls below (50). You have invested a lot of time and energy, churning out quality articles and comments but your earnings are still unsatisfactory.
Sometimes, you earn a meagre $0.08 after spending several hours on your blog posts. At first, you were optimistic, optimistic that things would improve with time. But now, your patience has been exhausted. You have made up your mind to quit, to say goodbye and never return.
Your frustrations grow like grass whenever you see the trending pages and find less quality posts. You see the self votes; you see the bots abuse. You see the greed. And you can't take it no more.
But, dear minnow, do not quit. Do not quit because history does not remember those who quit the race. Do not quit because Steemit and STEEM hold great promises. Do not quit because you're lucky to here ahead of millions of other potential users across the globe.
Regardless of what your present earnings are, dear minnow, imagine what happens when STEEM one day reaches $100 or even more in a few years from now. Although your 50 SP may be small today, it could do wonders tomorrow. And that tomorrow must be built by your not quitting today.
I admit that Steemit is tough and nobody wants to give minnows a chance. But do not despair. Be consistent with your blog posts, make new friends, and interact with the community. Soon, you'll have great reasons to smile. Remember, Rome was not built in a day.
To use the words of my Steemit mentor, , I wish you a full STEEM ahead.
Yours sincerely,
@Gandhibaba.
