That definitely really really really looks like a knights armament sr25. AKA the m110.
And that's a windowed PMAG. Holding what looks like to be a full load of 25, 308 shells. AKA 7.62 by 51 mm NATO.
And a super awesome suppressor on the front of that. That's just to reduce the muzzle signature not to silence the rifle at all it's still shooting supersonic rounds it just prevents dust from being kicked up and alerting the opponents to your position.
A variable optic I'm going to guess that is a 1 to 10 power variable optic and I'm guessing it's a vortex so maybe 1 to 10 power... Very handy and a lot lighter than having a huge scope on your rifle.
I believe this was on the last speak the truth video so I'm going to credit them however this is original content that I was able to capture in the middle of watching The daily updates for the videos and I was able to capture this tiny little fragment.
Highly effective battle rifle slash designated marksman's rifle slash sniper rifle because if I'm not wrong 10 powered 100 yards definitely is right up close and personal.
The Magpul pmag with the extra five rounds really is a game changer. And we're also looking at a Magpul adjustable stock on the rear of this.... I think this guy is wearing body armor that's why he is perfectly comfortable with the super short stock while maintaining what looks to be an extremely proficient shooting stance.
And also the body posture he has his head back from the lens enough that we're not going to see any scope bite so this is obviously somebody that shot this weapon system quite often.
And then next up the biggest thing I really want to comment about is the camouflage job on this.
That is super awesome. The versatility of the AR-10 platform as designated marksman's rifle and able to reach not only Urban combat environments but also long range shooting with the 308 Winchester AKA 7.62x51 mm NATO. This weapon system if I want to cite a source I can directly cite art of precision rifle by Magpul where they have taken the ballistics from these rifles and using computers as well as measuring wind and all the variables plugged in this equation into a computer that you can hold in your hand or have on your phone... Thereby these individuals actually are able to engage targets at 1,700 plus yards. AKA a mile.
With larger bore like 300 mag or 338 lapulla we are also seeing ranges increase as well as accuracy improving highly.
However the brutal effectiveness of a extremely powerful 762 by 51 NATO round and having a standard capacity magazine of 25 rounds plus the low power variable optic system? I have a feeling that we are also looking at a optics mount on the other side that has locking cams allowing the operator to switch between night vision thermal and just regular daytime optics.
Don't forget counter sniper operations does include flashing lasers at sniping positions to blind anyone behind these magnified lenses.
Simple dirty however highly effective.
The United States military started using these and Iraq and Afghanistan and the increase magazine of plus five to the capacity as well as the open window design is a direct result of military feedback from the battlefield.
Highly accurate and especially versatile not only with the second round and multiple round follow-up shots which increase hit probability.
However 25 rounds of 308 is absolutely potent and this is extremely controllable when you are returning highly accurate fire and you touch off a quick double tap.
The semi automatic gas piston with a rotating bolt just like the AR-15 is extremely reliable highly effective and capable all the way out to full mile.
A lot of really hardcore snipers are still all about the high accuracy and the bolt action rifles however the versatility of a semi-automatic sniping system especially in urban environments is extremely amazing.
I wrote about a Russian sniper a while back and ironically he is using a western 338 caliber rifle. While he does have a little bit of range at closer distances the length is extremely unwielding which in this example we are seeing the adjustable stock as well as the ability to remove that suppressor for a 16 inch barrel length making it capable of close quarters work much easier than a bolt action piece of artillery with only five rounds in it.
Most of these are 10 and m110 weapon systems are usually submoa accurate and that opens up only a little bit when you're just shooting regular ball FMJ ammo. Most FMJ ammo does about 1 moa through a nice barrel maybe a little bit less.
That means submoa @ 100 yd is less than an inch. Basically one MOA at 100 yards is 1 in. At 300 yards you would have a 3 in spread on your shot group.
And of course if you extrapolate the math if you go all the way up to a mile and you still shoot a group of about 18 in or less with sub moa bullets which happens to be about the same width as the average man's chest.
And at a full Mile in range we are definitely still seeing terminal capability from the round with 185 grain round traveling at 900 ft per second? That's basically like taking a 45 ACP bullet hit. Different caliber yes however 185 grain Mass traveling 900 ft per second equals so many foot pounds of energy no matter how much you want to slice that cake.
All in all we're talking about highly capable highly effective.
And I had just seen this in a tiny little flash that I was able to pause.
But there is so much information coming out....
Edit
Think this is where I was able to grab it... Unknown which fraction of a second this was shown.
But great information about this event.
More information about this weapon system on this video is pretty handy...
