Well let's talk about special rights.
I know that my tribe has been threatened by the state as well as federally for any thoughts of growing cannabis.
Yep that's right you can't grow cannabis if you are made of American and living on your own prisoner of war camp.
Apparently bureau of Indian affairs leaves that they have the right to enter sovereign land and uproot medicinal plants.
Well this is not only attack upon the sovereign rights of human beings to use a perfectly natural plant that has been a part of human history for tens of thousands of years.
However the federal government believes that they have the soul authority to say what you can and can't do on your own land and in your own home no matter what the laws in your state say.
Personally I thought that the tribes were going to push sovereignty and be the first people to legally be able to grow and use cannabis however that hasn't been the case.
In fact it has been pretty crazy with the absolute totalitarian government control.
Personally my reservation happens to be a dry reservation so alcohol is forbidden and the racism is absolutely out of control on both sides not only the Native American but also in town.
It is absolutely really scary when you go back home on the first lecture by your family tells you if you watch a Native American man being beaten to death that you are required to intercede and save his life.
The fact that the government is preventing Native Americans from access to a legal as well as medicinal plant is nothing but criminal.
Especially on the verge of full decriminalization by the federal government.
Personally I'd love to know the names of all of them law enforcement individuals that were a part of these grades and destroying these plants as they are absolutely liable for their actions.
Just remember that in 1978 the supreme Court of the United States had to hear a case about religious freedom relating to Native Americans and our traditional ceremonies. A week or two later I was born and my 43 years upon this planet I have had religious freedom. And I also got to learn from The medicine woman and United States military veteran who sued the federal government for our religious freedom.
When she told me the story I said that piece of paper is priceless and should be in a museum.
She went over and pulled out the original piece of paperwork she got from the United States supreme Court upon winning.
Out of 240 plus years of this country having the Constitution it is only within the past 43 years that we have had religious freedom for Native Americans.
