Trade Secrets!
I was lucky to be able to spend the weekend in northwestern Connecticut for a great event called Trade Secrets (http://www.tradesecretsct.com/) The proceeds go to a local women's charity.
SATURDAY: RAIN!!!
Saturday garden vendors from near and far came to display and sell their wares. Oh my! The plant vendors were selling at New York City prices, we just had to laugh. There were also antiques vendors with lots of garden tools and patio decorations, furniture, you name it. All the local "well-heeled" were there (Martha Stewart was poking around! I have a photo of back of her head and a bit of sideview, I'll post it if anyone insists))..of course, since it was pouring rain, I was ready to fit in...wearing my rubber cowboy boots
My colleague pointing to a lovely old garden cart. you can see just a glimpse of the wares and tents behind.
A few "finds" loaded up and ready for their new homes
See part of the wooden "tuteur" in the back of the car?
I popped it in my garden when I got home...I'll need to find a pretty clematis. Or any other ideas?? (please excuse the very messy state of my garden...waiting for all the awful "lesser celadine" ephemeral weed to dissipate.
SUNDAY: SUNSHINE!
There were 4 lovely gardens to tour. One was far and away the most spectacular...the gardens of Bunny Williams (She is a famous interior decorator. La-dee-da!). From amazing footpaths thru the woods, to a Romanesque pool and pool house, to formal gardens, to AMAZING vegie gardens.
Really astounding.
Here are a few shots:

Fanciest hen house I've ever seen.
There was also a fabulous veggie garden, but I'm afraid to say that I didn't take a photo. In fact, I didn't take photos of a lot of things...c'est la vie...
But I hope you enjoyed this mini-tour from my great mother's day weekend!
