We have released a major version update to the B3 wallet. It is mandatory to be on either 3.0.0.4 or 3.1.1.1. Source code available here
NOTE: Post update, FN will need to be restarted.
Changes in this release include:
· Updates to nodes to increase network stability. Our chain issues have been caused either by bad nodes, or poor communication with the good nodes. Commits are here and here. · Visual representation of coins is now in kB3 (1000 b3). No coin swap has taken place at this time. Instead, the decimal point has simply been moved over 3 places. Please be careful when burning a fundamental node, as the decimals will also need to be included. See QnA below. · Fundamental node coin (that one coin) is now no longer spendable. This also means that when burning a fundamental node, that you will not be able to see that one last coin. · Update to the wallet to correctly display the stake amount, which includes the reduction from the payment which was sent to the fundamental node. · Max connections reduced from 125 down to 12.
· Fundamental Node expiration introduced, and then extended to only kick in at 7 months (Note: this feature is still pending team decision). Data has been provided to help inform the decision of whether to get a FN or just keep staking.
Release QnA:
Q: Where do I get wallet upgrade instructions, bootstrap, or list of current nodes?
A: Wallet upgrade instructions, list of nodes to include in the conf file, and the best bootstrap to apply are all pinned at the top of #general, top of #wallet-help, and top of #fn-discussion
Q: How do I burn a FN using kB3?
A: If you want to use kB3 – please make sure to use the decimals (25000.001). Or, you may convert to B3 from kB3 before you burn. Also, please note that when burning the FN, you aren’t going to be able to see that last coin since we are now protecting it from being spent.
