Is that mean or tacky? I mean if you are having financial problems, it's your job to work hard here on STEEM to put the best content out possible so that you can possibly get rewarded for all your hard work. I said "possibly." It's not guaranteed and the rules are the same for ALL of us.
NOT A GOFUNDME
I've noticed several posts from the beginning of my journey here on STEEMI to now in which people are literally spilling their whole stories of eviction, homelessness, health issues, etc. To be quite honest, it's tacky and I hate to see it. I mean first, there's a certain pride you should have about yourself. This platform is not a GOFUNDME page, and I think anyone going through financial struggles that are on this platform should handle it with a little bit of class. Think about STEEMIT's reputation as well. What do we want to be a social media platform known for?
"Oh...if you're homeless or broke...go on STEEMIT....they just 'give' you money there...."??
LOOK AT ME...
If I myself, bragged about what I have been through, you would cry tears and throw money. However I'm a man, and though life has not been exactly fair to me, I realize that my decisions dictate what happens in my life, at least most of the time. I also feel that if it is finances that I require to change my situations, I use my resources around me. Let me make this clear. ASKING FOR FREE MONEY is not a resource. Asking someone to LOAN you money is...a resource.
NEVER FEEL COMFORTABLE TAKING FREE MONEY
Anytime I've ever been offered free money, I'm super skeptical. Even the Pell Grant to help with my college tuition has me leery. People work and sacrifice HAAARD for their money. Why would they just give it away as if problems don't come to them as well? It just never sat right with me to take handouts...it is "null" energy. I am a spiritual being and anything I give to the universe is an investment that I will get back, including energy dedicated from my own mental and physical will.
I am probably the most loving person that you can meet. But what I've realized about life, especially when I was homeless was that there were people out there on the street that had all the resources as I did but their attitude towards life was nothing like mine, thus they had all the resources in the world but still seemed to end up on the streets. A good friend told me once upon a time @slickhustler007....Life is about attitude and how you react to the bad situations.
KEEP FOCUSED ON THE JOURNEY
Keep focus on your goal, stay working hard everyday if you know in your heart something will pay out...no matter what anyone says. Have some class about your self and the universe will treat you with some class.
Thanks for listening.
