Caravaca is a small town in the South Eastern region of SPAIN. I managed to visit this beautiful historical town on my way to Granada from Alicante. It is also considered to be a Holy city of Catholic Church.
Caravaca is dominated by the medieval Castle of Santa Cruz and the famous Carvaca Catholic Church. We had to leave our bus in the town and climb the hill using a specially designed to reach the Castle and Church.
The cross of Caravaca is a double cross-barred crucifix on which the figure of Jesus is flanked by two winged angels. this Cross is believed to be appeared miraculously in Caravaca during the 14th Century. Caravaca is the fifth Holy City of Catholic Christianity after Rome, Jerusalem , Santiago de Compostela and Camaleno. Here the jubilee is celebrated once in seven years.
Many of the monuments and museums in Caravaca are of important tourist attractions.
After visiting the Church we started the descend in the specially designed vehicle.
