Hi Guys... Here I am today with a yummy recipe for a delicious homemade Masala Cake, made with Whole Green gram and Colocasia leaves, for a great weekend...
As we use Green gram and these leaves, both are very rich in vitamins and nutrients.
So let's start...
Green Gram (moong) - 1 big cup or 150 grams.
Rice - 1/4 cup.
Coconut - 1/2.(if grated 1big cup)
Coriander seeds - 1 table spoon.
Green chilly - 2 or 3
And...
Tamarind, Asafoetida, turmeric, and salt according to our taste.
From the backside of the leaves, remove this and cut the leaves finely into small pieces.
Method
Soak Green gram and rice for 6 hours. Grind along with grated coconut and all the above ingredients using a mixer to make a rough paste.
Now add the pre - cut pieces of Colocasia leaves. Also add fresh green peas and roasted cashew nuts (1/4 cup each) to this paste and mix well for 2 to 3 minutes.
Keep covered for half an hour.
Now pour 1 spoon pure coconut oil in a large vessel and apply to the base and sides. Pour the above dough and bake on steam, in a Cooker, (without putting the weight) for half an hour on low flame. Cut according to desired shapes...
So here is your Green gram and Colocasia Masala cake - So.... Yummy and delicious!! 😋
Can be had either with chutney or tomato sauce... :)
It's high in nutritious value, and tastes much good with evening tea!!
