This event aims at reducing the debris along the Hilutungan Channel for a cleaner and safer waters. Reporting types and quantities of debris found followed right after. The data we gathered will be used in helping educate people and in building convincing arguments that lead to change.
I joined the event with some of my free-diving mates from Sawum 🐟 Freedivers. Together, we collected 5 Kg of waste. We gathered tin and plastic food containers, beer and soda cans, ropes, glass bottles and plastic straws. I’m an active free-diver, and I have a first-hand experience on the effects of pollution on humans and marine animals. I hope people would take active participation, not just by cleaning up, but also in choosing to utilize reusable materials instead of disposable ones.

Thanks for reading my post and hope you upvote this. Proceeds will help create mesh bags that we will use in picking up trash.
Check out the short film I created ↑↑↑ . As you can see, we worked together for a clean and healthy ocean — and had fun doing it!
