This is the 8th installment of my girlfriends poetry from her 1999 book Emotions ... from the Heart.
This is one of my favorite poems from her book. It really makes you think about the night and all it mean to you. As always we hope you enjoy this poem.
Nights
The nights are sooooooo long
So dark and lonely
They slip in on you
When you are all alone.
They haunt your every dream
Bring nightmares,
Sight unseen.
They send chills of cold down your spine
Heartache galore
Thoughts of losing you
With torture knocking at the door.
Nights are so cruel
Yet, the beauty of night
Is so full of mystery
What lies out beyond
No man can see.
So when you are all alone
Looking out into space
Try to see that
Dark lonely night
As being a different place.
