Today I come to talk about the movie The Lost City.
Starring the beautiful Sandra Bullock who I have been following since The Network in 1995 and actor Channing Tatum who I saw in two G.I. Joe's: The Rise of Cobra and Retaliation.
In The Lost City, we are going to meet an author of novels in which adventure is handled along with romance.
At the beginning of the film, I was reminded of the movie Nim's Island starring Jodie Foster as an author of adventure-themed novels.
This made me think that The Lost City would not keep me sitting for long; but this did not happen.
A production of Paramount Pictures and Bullock herself and her production company in which we get the story of a somewhat lonely novel author (Angela Lovemore) who has to go on tour with her cover boy.
The latter named Dash McMahon in the novel is played by Alan Caprison who turns out to be a model who wants attention and even steals the show from the author.
In the novels, Angela is the heroine and together with her love Dash they live adventures created by Loretta Sage (Bullock) and based on her late husband's archaeological research.
Alan Caprison (Channing Tatum) is secretly in love with Loretta and this makes him commit reckless acts.
Loretta is kidnapped by a villain (Abigail Fairfax) who is played by the famous Harry Potter actor; Daniel Radcliffe. This happens because the villain discovers that what the author tells in her novels is true and wants to get the treasure of the lost city.
Alan notices the kidnapping and hires a former SEAL played by actor Brad Pitt to rescue the author.
Pitt's participation is brief because his character dies in the action, but his performance is spectacular because it is filled with a lot of humor that makes him stand out in the film.
From then on, the adventure begins, and it is intoxicated with humor. Bullock and Tatum's chemistry is such that the age difference between them is barely noticeable. And that's because she is around 60 years old.
There are scenes in which Sandra appears with very similar attitudes to those she did in Miss Congeniality 1 and 2; you will easily notice them.
And the other notable thing is that Channing Tatum plays a character that looks like the damsel in distress; this was very funny to me because I had seen him very macho in G.I. Joe.
However, the pair make a perfect combination that makes the film a crowd pleaser. You will enjoy their conversations very much. The rest of the cast does impeccably.
This story made me come to the conclusion that when we are perseverant, brave and show ourselves in an original way we can overcome any challenge and that we should not judge by appearances or be superficial.
Like all of Bullock's films, I would watch this movie a second time.
In my opinion, it is a movie to have a good time with the family.

En The Lost City, nos vamos a encontrar con una autora de novelas en la que se maneja la aventura junto con el romance.
Al principio de la película se me vino a la mente la película Nim's Island protagonizada por Jodie Foster quien actuaba como una autora de novelas cuyo tema eran las aventuras.
Esto me hizo pensar que The Lost City no me mantendría sentado por mucho rato; pero esto no sucedió.
Una producción de Paramount Pictures y la misma Bullock con su productora en la que nos echan el cuento de una autora de novelas algo solitaria (Angela Lovemore) que le toca salir de gira con su galán de portada.
Este último llamado Dash McMahon en la novela es interpretado por Alan Caprison que resulta ser un modelo que quiere llamar la atención y hasta le roba el show a la autora.
En las novelas destaca que Angela es la heroína y junto con su amor Dash viven aventuras creadas por Loretta Sage (Bullock) y basadas en las investigaciones arqueológicas de su difunto esposo.
Alan Caprison (Channing Tatum) está enamorado secretamente de Loretta y esto lo hace cometer imprudencias.
Total que Loretta es secuestrada por un villano (Abigail Fairfax) que es interpretado por el famoso actor de Harry Potter; Daniel Radcliffe. Esto sucede porque el villano descubre que lo que cuenta la autora en sus novelas es realidad y pretende hacerse del tesoro de la ciudad perdida.
Alan se percata del secuestro y contrata a un ex SEAL que es interpretado por el actor Brad Pitt para rescatar a la autora.
Esta participación de Pitt es breve porque su personaje muere en la acción, pero su actuación es espectacular porque está llena de mucho humor que lo hace resaltar en el film.
De allí en adelante comienza la aventura que esta embriagada de humor. La química de Bullock y Tatum es tal que la diferencia de edad entre ambos apenas se nota. Y eso que ella ronda por los 60 años.
Hay escenas en que Sandra aparece con actitudes muy similares a las que hizo en Miss Simpatía 1 y 2; se darán cuenta fácilmente.
Y lo otro que sí que es notable, es que el galán Channing Tatum interpreta a un personaje que pareciera la damisela en peligro; esto me causo mucha gracia porque lo había visto muy machote en G.I.Joe.
Como sea, la pareja logran una combinación perfecta que hace de la película sea del agrado del espectador. Disfrutaran mucho sus conversaciones. El resto del elenco lo hacen impecablemente.
Esta historia me hizo llegar a la conclusión que cuando somos perseverantes, valientes y nos mostramos de manera original podemos llegar a superar cualquier desafío y que no debemos juzgar por las apariencias o ser superficiales.
Al igual que todas las películas de la Bullock, esta película la vería una segunda vez.
A mi parecer, es una película para pasar un buen rato junto con la familia.
No se pierdan el post-créditos.
