Analysis --> 17th full season in Splinterlands

The end of the 8th season of the new rewards system has come. I am still enjoying the way it works and I think it is actually pretty well-balanced overall. Here's what I got from my 38 Diamond chests:

This my 4th complete season in Gold league and I am pleased with the amount of chests I earned, especially having in mind that I was earning Diamond Season chests in Gold (mostly). Moreover, in the last few days of the season I managed to jump into Diamond 3 again and get a couple of days worth of chests from playing there. Of course I got my a*s handed to me more often than not but there are actually other Gold-level decks there as well so they kind of balance things out. A gold-level deck does not necessarily mean I win the game of course since the power of my deck is still way off what I would like it to be. .

I think that's not bad at all, the 8 packs I have pulled are the most I have gotten in a month so that's great for sure. 337.00 SPS is not too shabby either. As a whole playing in Gold (and a bit in Diamond) feels more stable in terms of earnings and a lot more rewarding than Silver.

As I have already mentioned my Gold deck is still work in progress. So as you can see relying solely on your entry level Gold CL deck for Modern is not exactly optimal as far as the Win/Loss Ratio goes, and even more so in Diamond, of course. Yeah I waste a bit more ECR but at least I am using my own cards so I feel good about that. My Win/Loss Ratio is exactly the same as what it was last season which is probably a bit disappointing but I hope it will improve together with my deck quality.

I did sign up for as many tourneys as possible, however, when I switched to Gold most of the silver tourneys and all of the bronze ones became unplayable for me due to the restrictive pricing for Gold level players. I had a few good placements this season, specifically a 3rd spot in Clove's BD tourney.

The SPS report just does not look sexy when the airdrop is no longer on it but oh well.. it is what it is. I did earn some SPS from staking (mostly thanks to the 1/2 Node I have acquired but keep in my account) but that's nothing compared to the 1000 SPS airdrop I had in my last report before the airdrop ended.

My rental report looks pretty good thanks to the service provided by Splex.gg. I'm renting out all my duplicate cards. Not touching anything from my main deck though so about 3.8K DEC from duplicates is pretty nice, having in mind the rental market was rather dead up for most of the season at least for the cards I'm renting out.

Let's see how the new system treats the poor ol' ex-Bronze players or in this case my poor ex-Bronze now more-so Silver alt account.😁 Here's the breakdown of the screenshot containing 65 Silver Chests (EV: $5.89):

So again the rewards are in line with the % distribution provided by the team. Probably even a bit better this time as the EV of my Silver chests is almost as much as what I got from the Diamond chests on my main account this time.

Let's have a look at my total earnings for the whole season on this account for 188 Silver chests and 18 Bronze for a total of $12.43.

I am actually very pleased with what I have gotten so far for the month. Compared to what Bronze players get there is just no comparison actually, mostly due to the 4 packs I've been lucky enough to receive. I've never ever received a pack from a Bronze-level chest.

I played only Modern this season and I am planning to just sticking to Modern going forward. I am pleased that I am maintaining a decent win rate on this alt as I am not really deeply involved when playing my daily battles on it. There is more it though. For the 4th time I decided to advance to Silver even earlier than last time. I was yet again surprised by the amount of level 1 and level 2 Summoners in low-rating Silver I. I had a few days with pretty good amount of SIlver chests cause of that. This also help me boost my season chests to 65. I am planning to keep doing the same. You can see my win rate is relatively good provided the fact that I was playing in Silver with an entry-level CL Silver deck.

I have participated in 4 Bronze tourneys this season. I actually feel I did well having in mind the fact that my collection is very far away from competitive in Bronze as I am missing key tournament cards.
