Good day Asean Hive Community and Happy Friday everyone. I think this is my first ever post in asean hive community and I would like to share my visit to a Harvest Festival that I managed to attend to last May 2023. Usually, this festival will be held for a month the whole of May and the climax will be held at KDCA (Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association) for 3 days, where all people around the states will come and gather together to celebrate the rice spirit for giving a good harvest for the year.
Usually, I really didn't fancy to come to place like this because of the place will be too crowded with people and it's really hard to find a parking space for our transportation. So, I came with my friend 2 days earlier to avoid it as there's still not very big crowd at that moment. So, we hang around the place which a lot of traditional booth market are being setup and at that time, we got lucky because there's a male pageant for the elderly being held for the first time. Here's the photo that I manage to take with my 50mm manual lens. Its really hard to take a sharp photo with manual lens as I really didn't have that much practice to begin with. The pageant are called "Mister Gundohing".

Here's a few snap shot of the traditional hand craft that is being sold and display there.

Just near the traditional hand craft booth are the traditional house of Murut where there's this one part of the house got the trampoline like platform where people will jump on it just like the photo below.

Then lastly, I found this one particular place where the lights are really beautiful. There's just seems to be a very good contrast between the lights and shadow and I couldn't help to take notice of this. This is the kitchen area of the long house of Murut and there's me sitting on the chair posing as a subject to my still framing.

Other than the traditional hand craft section, there's also the food section where it's already starting to get crowded. Here's a few shot that I take.

There's really not much of an activity during this time of me visiting here but I just like the crowd size. Next year I might push myself to come during the peak day of this celebration as there will be more people and interesting thing to happen. Usually, the peak event is the traditional beauty pageant that we called "Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan" which all of the contestant from all around the state of Sabah will compete for the title. My last coverage of this event is the year of 2016 and I'm not sure if I still have the photo's back then. Will have to check back my past photo database if I still keeping it. Till then, have a great weekend everyone.
