I am wary of those who look like they can't hurt a fly
Not everyone though but some genuinely want me to cry
Humans are tricky, as we say in Nigeria, some of them no dey try
Into your affairs, they always want to pry
They cry to your face and when you leave, their tears they dry
They are never real and to some, they come off as shy
Face value is not the real value most of the time
Some people's words are so smooth but their words cut deeper
They show a hand of peace but they are brewing war on the inside
Not everything is as we see them most of the time
They can feed you, add poison and make you think it's thyme
The heart of men, who can know it?
Some people are so skilled at deceiving and pretending
They hail you to your face but when you turn they are condescending
They would never appreciate you when you are trending
But false information about you they are always sending
Beware of those whose words cannot match their actions
They are snakes and wolves in human clothing
They say they care but would sell you out at the slightest
You cross the ocean for them but they can't jump a speed bump for you
Love yourself enough never to place them over your desires again
