Hello all, here is my mtb ride this morning/afternoon in Los Gatos, CA @ a park named St. Joseph's Hill. It was 16.7 miles and 1,500 feet of climbing. (For reference, the Statue of Liberty is 305 feet tall) Photo above is at Vasona which I passed on the way to the mountains.
GPS data is from a Garmin Vivoactive HR, Wahoo fitness HRM and uploaded to Strava
The city repaved the path at Vasona and it is really smooth now, compared to ruts before which were a trip hazard. It was a nice 54*f day for riding.
Vasona has various historical plaques set around the park. This one reviews the oldest adobe home that was built close to this spot in 1833. (When the population of California was Spanish, Mexican and native Indians)
On the Los Gatos creek trail, the boy scouts placed a bike stand, pump and misc tools for fixing any issues that you may have with your bike.
Do not eat the wild mushrooms around here
This is a view looking towards the Santa Clara valley, the left side is up the peninsula towards Cupertino/Palo Alto (If you keep going, you'll hit San Francisco...
Here is a map of the South Bay area with the specific view outlined with the red lines
