Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Matthew 26:52.
One of the apostles of Jesus had at a time decided to put up a fight in a bid to defend his master, Peter took out his sword and cut off the ear of one of the people who came to arrest Jesus.
Jesus wasn't satisfied with that action and rebuked Peter not to fight the people, He took the ear and healed it back. The Lord Jesus then said, everyone that hold up a sword shall perish by the same sword.
What this means is that, there are battles we can't fight by our own hands. The Lord wants to help us fight our fight, hence, he said call upon me in the day of trouble.
