Keeping EVERYTHING In Order & Still Being Productive
Over the last few months I am constantly asked, or receive comments, asking me how I do what I do and how I am able to take on so much work, steemit and household projects and still have time to sleep.
I have always been a 100% kind of person. When I worked for the newspaper many years ago, it was nothing for me to put in over 70 hours of work; when I was on a salary based on a 40-hour per work week.
When I was an administrative assistant for a large utility company I thought nothing of working 12 hour days and being available to my boss after hours for paperwork issues and concerns.
After the kids left home and I quit my 9-to-5 job two years ago, I centered my focus on moving into our new home and setting it up; nesting to get the house just perfect. I took my time cleaning everything, organizing the kitchen cupboards and making sure everything was in its place.
Before steemit, I spent most of my home time learning to garden; and once I learned about plants and herbs, I dove in head first. I started growing vegetables and herbs that I never gave a second thought to before; as I would buy them at the grocery store.
I would putter with some writing gigs and continued ghost writing but due to my health and loss of passion for writing, I slumped. I stopped taking on jobs and writing assignments and literally just survived day to day. I was bordering the fence of confessing I was becoming depressed.
Instead of confronting the depression hole I was spiraling down, I subconsciously made the choice to continue the free-fall into melancholy life.
But mid-July of 2017, I received an email from a prepping website and newsletter. This email explained what steemit was. It spoke of the potential writing and blogging possibilities. It gave a thorough and exciting pretense of cryptocurrency.
So in between cleaning the house, puttering in the garden and greenhouse and all my other household tasks and chores, I began writing a few posts. Steemit has MOTIVATED me to another level of life! It has given me my passion back for success, writing and being involved.
Being A Stay At Home Wife
I will be the first to admit I am VERY fortunate to be able to stay home while my husband earns the household salary. Every day I am appreciative to this decision we made a couple of years ago. I know my husband likes it too. We have a nice home, a little parcel of property and he knows I am always here to take care of the BIG and the little things.
Being able to be home as much as I am, has opened up so many possibilities of DIY, gardening and working online as a career.
Steemit: Every Aspect
Blogging
I try to make a post at least everyday. I have missed a few days here and there, but nothing to be worried about.
I love to write but have found that some days I want to comment more than anything else.
I have loved how steemit pushes me and motivates me to try new skills.
Curation, Stewards Of Gondor, Gmuxxybot, The Golden Ambassadors & More
As an Stewards Of Gondor, I take this responsibility very seriously. FTG has given me the power to do what he would want to have done on steemit and to advance the platform. I comment and reply; all the while still doing my own daily post(s).
As a recent Gmuxxybot curator, which I also take 100% seriously, I continue reading posts looking for original content. I have enjoyed this new responsibility and it really makes me stop and think when reading a post. Plus it has given me a whole new perspective about image sourcing, copy/paste and plagiarism concerns.
I started my own delegation called the Golden Ambassadors; just my way of continuing to give back. I have three people I have delegated to with plans for more.
I have daily and weekly events where I spread the SOG love all over steemit to unsuspecting recipients.
I am still the meet and greet person for the Homesteadersonline community, moderator for the group on Discord and have started getting involved in other smaller projects to help incoming steemians.
How do I do all this? AWESOME time management and being my own worst critic. I have NO PLANS on slowing down any time soon.
Manual Curation
I have always done my own UPvotes and curation. I have no desire to use an auto-bot to do my voting for me. I prefer the personal touch- always will.
So every UPvote I give, comes from the click of the mouse from me.
It may not seem like much, but I like the personal touch of the person who took the time to post to know I took the time to read.
Qurator
As the curator and DQ writing for qurator, I am allowed the time to scour dozens of posts ever day finding just the right ones for the day's newsletter. This has been great for my curating skills and for learning about new steemians and topics.
Homesteading, New Skills & Gardening
I have great plans to expand my garden this coming year and have even gone as far as to have someone help me. I am not slowing down on steemit by any means. I am having more help around here.
I will grow my garden, add new plants and herbs like never before and I know all of this I can record and post about on steemit.
I will continue to learn more skills and share with you all here too.
So when people ask me, how do you do it all? All I can say is passion... love for steemit... and the smile all of it brings to my face; whether helping a new steemian to creating a new a recipe in the Golden D kitchen. EVERY aspect makes me smile from deep within.
