Trashing the office under supervision
On Monday morning I was up at 5:30AM and got a load in the dishwasher. Next I checked e-mail and edited photos for a short time, and then got started. The window guy was due at 9AM.
More prepping for windows
I’d decided to try to get as many of the office windows done as we could. So I started moving plants and furniture and prepping the windows. I got 5 of the smaller ones done before I ran out of space.
9:00AM came and went and at 9:15AM I called to see when or if he was showing up. I got a run around for an hour, by which time I’d assumed he wasn’t so I got started by myself. I got a call from the director after 10AM informing me that he wasn’t scheduled for this week at all. Sigh…
Taken through a clean window
So I proceeded to do the 5 by myself. I got the windows proper finished and then took my time cleaning up plants and areas as I put the office back together. I finished around 4PM.
Cleaned up plants in a clean window
I was pretty wiped out. Normally I sit and wash windows and the helper takes them out and brings them over to me, cleans the frame area, and puts them back in once clean. But I had to get up and down 4X for each window and do the cleaning at the beginning of each one.
Honesty growing over the bank
It had been a beautiful day and had I known no one was coming, I would have been out working in the gardens, prepping the big garden for planting peas.
I did get out and wander around the yard for a while, but mostly I was on the couch watching ‘My Favorite Martian’.
Tuesday’s project
As there was no one coming on Tuesday, I asked my #2 intern if she wanted to work in the Big garden on Tuesday morning before it got hot. It was to hit 83F on Tuesday. She said she’d come for 9AM.
My helper friend would be here at 10:30AM and I’d hoped to get the pea fences up. I planned to get outside between 6AM and 7AM and get started cleaning out the Big garden before the others arrived.
So another long busy day…
