On Saturday I didn’t get up until 5:30AM. I got the post written and up and worked on the amendment project until my brother got up. We went out to deal with the tarp. It wasn’t dry, so we put it on top of the wood for the masonry heater. Hopefully it will dry up there.
At 10:30AM I went out to start mowing. The grass wasn’t as wet but it is really incredibly lush due to all the rain. By the way, the Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary Rebecca Tepper declared the Western Region will be downgraded from Level 1-Mild Drought to Level 0-Normal conditions. Given all the rain we’ve had, I would have thought we’d be in some sort of flood status.
It took 3 hours as I was again unplugging the chute of the bagger. I use the bagger because I don’t like to see large clumps of black grass all over the lawn. When it’s this lush, it clumps then rots.
When I finished, Tom had arrived with the milk order. I talked with him briefly as he needed to get back to the grandchild. He only had a few hours left before they flew home in the evening.
I ate something after a much needed shower (Tom’s comment: “You’re filthy!”) and went to bed for a nap.
The sauerkraut has released plenty of liquid to protect it. This is 3 days. I haven’t tried it yet.
On Sunday my husband’s cousins from the Carolinas are coming to visit in the morning. It supposed to rain when they arrive for the visit. I’d hoped it wouldn’t be so we could walk the gardens. In the afternoon, there’s the concert at 2:15PM. I’ll bring the pansy umbrella, it won’t rain.
