On Monday morning I was up at 6AM and got the kitchen cleaned up. Then I had to water the seedlings in the house.
Once that was done, I started moving house plants in the living room. The dining room table was soon full and some went onto the counter. I pulled off dead leaves on many of them, cleaning them up some.
Next I moved all the furniture away from the windows and got the grilles out. All that was left was to move the coffee table away from the couch, as that’s where I set up to wash windows. I need help moving that.
I went into the office and started moving furniture. The cat was in the office chair and didn’t budge throughout this.
I didn’t have enough room in the office to do all the windows, so I got the hardest ones ready first. That was the big south windows and the one over the new desk. I had enough space left to do the one by the computer table.
I then went and started getting all the stuff together to do the job. My helper arrived at 8:15AM and we got started in the office. Those big south windows take forever to do, as there are 4 windows in each one and they are big. After an hour we were finally done with them and started on the smaller windows.
Those went pretty fast and by 11 AM we moved into the living room. Some of the windows in the office had been put back together, just because there wasn’t room to do other ones. But mostly it was left a mess.
Once we got started in the office, we were closely supervised, especially the big windows, as he liked to look out them. We had to keep a sharp eye he didn’t jump out.
We managed to finish the last window in the office right on time. We’d done our quota of 13 windows in 4 hours.
Once he left, all I wanted to do was sit down somewhere. But there was no place available. So I started in the office and put it all back together again. I cleaned up a few of the plants as I went along. Then I cleaned up the mess and in the process ended up putting the living room back together.
I didn’t finish until 3:30PM and was exhausted. I got something to eat and sat on the couch and watched M.A.S.H. until bedtime.
On Tuesday I have laundry to do, the kitchen to clean up, the seedlings in the cold frame to water, and my helper friend and I will be trying to get the Swiss chard planted in the Big garden.
That ought to do me in for the day. It’s to be mid 80’s by mid afternoon, so I’ll be glad to be inside where it is cool.
